March: Clocks & Alarms

clocksWe are featuring a different Assistive Technology device each month. This month we are highlighting a collection of clocks with various features.

  • The Sonic Boom Alarm Clock is extra loud and includes a bed shaker! It has the added feature of a built-in telephone connection which causes the alarm to sound when your phone rings.
  • The Talking Clock can be programmed to announce the hour (from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.) and you can tap a button to hear the present time. The Talking Clock syncs itself with the National Atomic Clock so it’s always precise.
  • The Pocket Timer & Clock is handy to take with you in your pocket or purse or when traveling. In addition to a standard timer setting it includes a “count up” feature that will also track the amount of time it’s been since the timer went off.

We have these clocks on display in our St. Joseph office. If you have questions about the clocks, you can contact Karen in our Kalamazoo Office (269-345-1516 x115) or Joanne in our St. Joseph office (269-982-7761)

Assistive Technology Funding Assistance is Available

The Assistive Technology Loan Fund (ATLF) is available to help people pay for tools for independence. The ATLF is a low interest loan available to people with disabilities and their family members to help purchase items like wheelchair-accessible vehicles, hearing aids, mobility devices, communication devices, or adapted recreation equipment. The ATLF can also pay for home modifications, including ramps, to make your home more accessible. Contact Lewis in our Kalamazoo office (269-345-1516 x107) for more information.
