It saddens us to share that on Thursday, February 13, 2020, Jo Slusher, a friend and former staff member of Disability Network Southwest Michigan, died. Jo was employed with Disability Network from April 9, 2012 to April 11, 2019 in the role of Information & Referral Specialist.
Jo assisted us with the furthering of our mission by connecting our customers to resources in our eight-county service area. During the years that Jo was with us, she assisted over 3,600 customers in finding housing, applying for benefits and accessing community resources. Customers experienced in each connection with Jo sincere support and trust, provided with the highest degree of kindness and genuine care. Jo’s welcoming personality, professional communication skills and persistence in providing Information and Referral services was a true gift to Disability Network and the community.
For her dedication, willingness to assist and advocate for our customers, and how she represented Disability Network with community partners, we are deeply appreciative. On behalf of the board, staff, and President & CEO of Disability Network Southwest Michigan, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jo Slusher, a truly remarkable woman.
