Assistive Technology of the Month

January: The MedCenter System

MedCenter SystemWe are featuring a different Assistive Technology device each month. This month we are highlighting the MedCenter System. The MedCenter is designed to organize and assist with dispensing medications. It is a color-coded system of pill boxes for each day of the month and each day has four compartments. There are periodic alarms and a talking alarm clock and calendar built into the system.

The MedCenter System would be useful if you have a lot of medications or a complicated schedule for medications, or if you just want to organize your medications once a month. The alarm and organizers will help remind you to take your medications on time.

We have a MedCenter System on display in our St. Joseph office. If you have questions about the MedCenter System, you can contact Karen in our Kalamazoo Office (269-345-1516 x115) or Joanne in our St. Joseph office (269-982-7761)

Assistive Technology Funding Assistance is Available

The Assistive Technology Loan Fund (ATLF) is available to help people pay for tools for independence. The ATLF is a low interest loan available to people with disabilities and their family members to help purchase items like wheelchair-accessible vehicles, hearing aids, mobility devices, communication devices, or adapted recreation equipment. The ATLF can also pay for home modifications, including ramps, to make your home more accessible. Contact Lewis in our Kalamazoo office (269-345-1516 x107) for more information.
