Position: Independent Living Specialist
Disability Network is hiring an Independent Living Specialist to work from our Kalamazoo office. Independent Living (IL) Specialists provide services both 1-1 and in group format to youth in transition and adults with disabilities. Services are provided in the areas of assessment, IL skills training, self-advocacy, preparing for post-secondary success, workplace readiness training, job exploration, and follow-along supports. IL Specialists work closely with vocational rehabilitation (VR) counselors to provide holistic, person-centered services to customers who have a goal of employment. IL Specialists also provide information and referral, and advocacy services to meet customers’ needs to live as independently as desired in their community, and to promote systems level change connected to the mission and vision of Disability Network Southwest Michigan.

This is a full-time position working from our Kalamazoo office. Minimum starting wage is $17.00/hour.
