Webinar: Disability Language & Etiquette

The language we use is powerful and can reveal hidden assumptions we might not realize we have. Our words can be hurtful even when well-intended. Disability Network is hosting a free webinar for human service professionals designed to allow participants to explore new ideas, ask questions in a safe environment and challenge some assumptions about what it means to live with a disability. Ableism shows up in our social work practice and organizations whether we intend it to or not; this webinar invites area professionals to learn new ways of thinking and talking about disability.

This webinar will be offered at the following times:

  • Thursday, August 12 at 1:00 – 2:30 PM
  • Tuesday , August 24 at 10:00 – 11:30 AM

Participation in this event is available through an internet connection or a phone call. Space is limited, so please register in advance below.
