Assistive Technology of the Month
December: Rolling Cutter
We are featuring a different Assistive Technology device each month. This month we are highlighting the Rolling (Pizza) Cutter. This heavy-duty, rolling cutter is good for more than just pizza! It can be used for sandwiches, vegetables, and more. It’s large handle is easy to grip and the rolling action allows for sturdy, one-handed cutting rather than a sawing action to cut food.
You might find the Rolling Cutter helpful if you cut or slice foods using only one hand, or if the large handle with a soft grip works better for you.
We have a Rolling Cutter on display in our St. Joseph office. If you have questions about the Rolling Cutter, you can contact Karen in our Kalamazoo Office (269-345-1516 x115) or Joanne in our St. Joseph office (269-982-7761)

Assistive Technology Funding Assistance is Available
The Assistive Technology Loan Fund (ATLF) is available to help people pay for tools for independence such as health monitoring apps or the equipment to run them on. The ATLF is a low interest loan available to people with disabilities and their family members to help purchase items like wheelchair-accessible vehicles, hearing aids, mobility devices, communication devices, or adapted recreation equipment. The ATLF can also pay for home modifications, including ramps, to make your home more accessible. Contact Lewis in our Kalamazoo office (269-345-1516 x107) for more information.
