We Welcome Bryan Zocher to our board of directors

Bryan. A light-skinned man with graying hair and glasses.

Bryan Zocher recently joined our board of directors. Bryan has been a tremendous influence on Arts Education in the Kalamazoo area. He is the Director of Education for the Arts at KRESA. As an art educator, Zocher spent six years as a MCACA funded playwright-in-residence with Van Buren Intermediate School District and Kalamazoo RESA. He strives to combine the arts, social justice, entrepreneurialism, and youth leadership development in his work with young people.

In addition to his work as an arts educator, Bryan has worked at several influential arts and culture organizations and is also an esteemed member of several national and state arts and culture boards and leadership councils. Locally, Bryan is a member of the Western Michigan University Theatre Guild, Kalamazoo Cultural Center, Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, and Tuned In. In 2021, Bryan was awarded the Community Medal of Arts Award from the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.

Bryan is also a professional theatre artist and educator who has written over 40 plays, musicals, radio shows, and children’s productions that have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, and numerous theatres in Michigan and Kalamazoo.

We welcome Brian and appreciate the experience he brings to our board.
