Paul Ecklund named to Housing Council

Paul Ecklund

Paul Ecklund, ADA Specialist and Systems Advocate for Disability Network Southwest Michigan, has been named to the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan Partner Advisory Council. The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) has assembled the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan Partner Advisory Council, comprised of housing experts and partners dedicated to bettering the state housing system. The council will be instrumental in the development of Michigan’s first five-year Statewide Housing Plan (SHP).

The strategic housing plan will identify key housing issues impacting residents across the state by leveraging a diverse group of stakeholders to create an action plan that ensures all Michiganders have access to a safe, affordable, and quality place to call home. The plan will lay out strategies and outcome goals for housing in our state, with a central focus on equity.

Paul is a certified ADA Coordinator and has worked as an advocate for many years with local and state agencies on issues of accessible affordable housing in our communities. Paul’s involvement on this council will ensure that the disability community is represented in these important decisions and plans for housing in Michigan.
